These are a few shots of some of the old buildings in Balaclava, now part of Dacre, in Renfrew County, Eastern Ontario, Canada.
The images show the old general store and the old lumber mill. This water-powered mill was the last one operating in the area when it was finally shut down, in 1967.
I used an old-fashioned looking sepia tone and converted these images to monochrome. The lighting while I was there was terrible and the monochrome adds that "period" look and hides some of the lighting issues that I encountered during the shoot.
